http://shredderjoe.com/?p=70 The horse and jockey pairing with the best odds to win the 139th Kentucky Derby was changing even up until moments before posting time. In the end, contender Revolutionary held the top spot, but not the title. It was Orb and jockey Joel Rosario who took home the coveted trophy at the ‘Run for the Roses.’
http://lizhingley.com/projects Orb zoomed pass the finish after surging from the middle of the pack late in the race, allowing horses Falling Sky, Verrazano and Normandy Invasion to set the pace. Ever the ‘most exciting two minutes in sports,’ Orb cruised in at two minutes and two seconds to claim his rightful $1.4 million purse.
If you missed that flash of a race (or the big-hat-styles of race-day spectators), stay tuned for two more exciting races – the Preakness Stakes and Belmont Stakes – both of which Orb is running. If this spitfire keeps up his speedy form, he could be the first Triple Crown (first in all three Kentucky, Preakness and Belmont races) winner since 1978!
